I have received invitations to talk to two different fishing clubs during August. All interested persons are welcome to attend.
The first meeting is on Aug 7 for the Kent Island Fisherman Club. They meet at the American Legion on Rt. 8 on Kent Island a short ways south of Rt 50. That meeting is scheduled to start at 7:00.
The second meeting is on Aug 26, from 6:30 – 9:30 for the Greater Baltimore chapter of CCA Maryland. They meet at the Gunpowder VFW Post 10067, 6309 Ebenezer Rd, Middle River, MD.
My talk is The Fishing Comfort Zone – How and Where Do You Most Enjoy Fishing. The talk will describe what is meant by a fishing comfort zone, how to determine your own fishing comfort zone (this will be different for each person), and how my own fishing comfort zone has evolved over 30 years of fishing. The presentation describes some of the techniques I use to target fish in these areas – I will bring various rods, reels, and lures to use as examples of how I rig up.
As part of the presentation, I plan to conduct a Fish ID game. The presentation has pictures of many species of fish that I have caught. Some are common local fish, but others are not found around here. When I show the photos of the more unusual fish, I will ask the audience to tell me what type of fish it was. The first person to guess correctly wins a small bag of tackle.
