  • Water temperature and depth maps

Saw an interesting article put out by MD DNR on dissolved oxygen depths in the bay and water temperatures. They have an online map that is kept current. http://eyesonthebay.dnr.maryland.gov...edepth_map.cfm

If you’ve been struggling in the Severn or West rivers it maybe due to inadequate oxygen below 10’ in those rivers. Conversely Swan Point has the deepest dissolved oxygen right now. Interesting stuff.

For many years I have subscribed to what I was taught about O2 levels. In July and August, I don't fish Maryland rivers over 15 feet deep. The other thing to watch is the currents, winds and moon phases so you can determine if the area you want to fish has been flushed out periodically. Many creeks don't have much current flow do to wind and high temps make matters worse.
