You need to fish in waters that hold snakeheads...fresh or lightly brackish water with lots of weeds, Lilly pads and structure using weedless lures...noisy top water lures seem best, but they will hit just about anything a bass will...chatterbaits, frogs, big live minnows...and learn to wait an extra second before setting the hook on top water strikes...it isn’t rocket science...best way is to go, make mistakes and learn from them..be prepared...learn the best knots, use good quality lines, tackle...nothing takes the place of time on the water.

      What Ron said.
      1. Fish known waters with snakeheads.
      2. Fish a top water frog, zoom toad, chatterbait, or spinnerbait.
      3. I had the most success fishing shallow weedy areas. Super shallow near shorelines and find openings in the weeds.
      4. You will need a large net. I find it easiest to get the snakehead into a net. Then get the fish on your kayak. The fun begins trying to either kill the fish or get your lure back. They have incredible strength.
      5. Be prepared for the fish to flip away and back into the water. They are good at doing that.

Once you catch one, you will be addicted.

June/July are best for topwater action, my personal favorite. Anything that makes surface action will do, especially jump frogs or agitation like a teckel or a plopper.

I've caught healthy LMB the cast before and after a SH, so be find a body of water that holds both and get ready for the excitement.

Fish the way you feel comfortable. You are probably already doing the right stuff, you just need to get to the right water. However, I recommend stiff rods and hard hooksets. Also, be ready for all kinds of sudden maneuvers from the fish (leaps, headshakes, direction changes, etc.). These fish are smart. I lost a monster this year when it charged the boat and I was unable to keep tension on the line.

A simple google search says they’re in the North East River.

Then there is this DNR map, with reported catches, which means there is probably more!

Nothing beats time on the water.

But if you're looking for "how to" information by a local angler who is an absolute expert in catching snakeheads, consider purchasing this book:

                  joebruce.net/newsnspbobo.html

Good luck when you get out after them. They can be humbling.

I subscribe to the Kambotrout's youtube channel, and he puts out a lot of quality videos. He has established himself as a bit of a snakehead expert this year, which is nice to see. I was just thinking this morning that he would be a great addition to the snaggedline community.

1st, put the time in, no one is going to "announce" spots they have found through much trial and error.
I have located a few spots that some nimrod eventually post on the internet and LITERALLY the next week there is 3-4 times the amount of people.
For the most part, they are in the brackish and fresh water of ANY tidal river connected to the Chesapeake bay/Potomac,, If there is a "spot" that is plastered all over the net, skip it,, it will be a tough bite due to pressure. Fish areas that are inaccessible to jon boats,, Because the "Bow Hunters" spot light at night and decimate those areas.

Fish like you are going for LMB. Google maps is your friend,, I have made many phone calls to DNR and other "water authorities" not so much for "hot spots", but for unconventional access points. Find areas that boat traffic is blocked due to down trees, etc,, pour over the plat maps, write letters for access.
You get the picture, think outside the box and enjoy the hunt

I understand. Just wanted to some direction. Didn't need hot spot just confirming they are in the area so that is not part of the learning curve. I haven't fished for LMB in a very long time. The seminar video was a great help.
