Casting from shore at downtown Chicago Lake Michigan shoreline, angler lands new Illinois state record smallmouth, 7lb 3oz, crushing previous record by 12oz, was caught 10 minutes before park closed to the public for the evening. Angler & friend kept the fish alive for accurate weight/size measurements on official scale, and was released back into the lake two days later! California Craw Z-Man Finesse TRD lure!
