  • Slayer propel 13 question.

Any users of the native propel units, I just have a quick question. Has anyone had issues with the seat screws not lining up with the slug in the gear track? This has been a CONSTANT issue all year. I down played it all summer thinking it was just flex in the kayak. But there have been trips where I have stripped out the slugs and now always bring spares with me. I usually have to wedge my arm and push as hard as I can against the kayak just to get the screw to a line each time. I was just wondering if this was a issue most users are having or if I maybe got a bad mold.

The poor alignment with seat screws and the sliding track on the Slayer Propel 13 is an issue that is not unique to you. I cannot say if it is widespread, but I have heard of some others with that issue. It never bothered me, because I always transported and stored my Slayer Propel 13 with the seat left in place. If your transportation mode requires that you remove the seat, here is a tip that some other users have tried. Take a board and cut it to the exact length to match the correct width spacing of your sliding tracks. At the time you remove the seat, insert the board between the sides as a prop or wedge to keep it at that spacing when the seat is removed.

I hope that works for you.

That's what I just ended up making. Just didn't know if it was a one off kind of thing and was worth contacting native or to just suck it up more or less. Thanks for the input. Its not the end of the world just kind of a pain sometimes.
