Cold weather fishing gear

I know this has probly been a post but i wanted some ideas on what type of cold weather gear would be good for the up and coming months?

Waders with belt w/ neoprene socks, Belt, and a drytop remember to layer. Test out your setup in shallow water making sure it doesn't leak. There are several informative youtube videos as well

I do pretty much what Pinch said. Layers are definitely important. I've been out in really cold weather and was overheating so you need to be able to take off a layer or two. I wear a Frog Toggs dry top which offers no real warmth but I can wear it all year if I want to stay dry and layer beneath based on the weather...same thing with the breathable waders.

My cold water gear is the same as Pinch's. I also wear some water boots over my neoprene wader booties.

I do pretty much the same. I use stocking foot kokatat wader pants and a splash top. Both the pants and the top has neoprene at the waist to get a seal. I also agree, layer, layer and layer. However, don't wear too much. If you sweat, you will get cold. For my shoes, I use an inexpensive pair of Bass Pro reef walkers over the stocking foot, with wool sock inside the waders. I also wear an inflatable PFD with all of those added closes. Otherwise, too much bulk.

PS: For anyone small or medium there are some splash tops on clearance at West Marine in Annapolis. I got mine there last year for $54, for a splash top that originally sold for $250. You have to shop the deals. I have not seen any large sizes on clearance this year so far.

Same as Pinch's. Make sure you get waders with a front zipper for those essential moments when you need to bleed the lizard.

I have breathable wader pants with stocking feet. I pair these with a dry top with neck and wrist gaskets. The dry top has two sections, one goes below the pants the other on the outside. The over layer has a neoprene gasket material and straps to cinch it tight. I've been in water up to my armpits with out feeling a drop! Not looking forward to having to wear it all the time again.

The zipper is a good idea, it's not much fun trying to take a leak. Also, if you have a hobie, I think neoprene will be to warm.
