Wow! Congratulations. Do I have to address you as Doctor Bill? Congratulations on a life accomplishment and dedication to public service.

Mott Marine Institute, VIMS, SCRIPS, State NRS- but then the Tea Party budget cutters in Congress have practically cut out all education and research grants. Especially anything that measures industrial pollution or food safety. Their war cry is no EPA/NOAA regulation at all on industry or business. For us who want to eat the fish we catch that is a scary prospect. Same story with cantaloupes and fresh spinach...who would have ever thought twenty years ago that the food you buy from a store today may kill you?

Yeah, the sooner I can land a permanent job, the better. Fortunately, a proposal I wrote for a post-doctoral position was funded and will buy me some time. NOAA is usually pretty buffered from budget cuts, but everyone takes a hit when the overall pie is smaller.

Even though I often say how awesome the people are on this forum, my wife couldn't get over all the positive responses in this thread. You guys rock!
