  • Lewes inlet 10/8

Never fished here,, my boy has a 3 day baseball tourney this weekend so I'm bring the yaks for slack time.

Launch on beach - got it.
we'll be fishing with squid strips, jigging jig heads and tails ?
Were does one fish after launching from the beach?
It will be in the 70's, whats the water temp gonna be like?, we do NOT have cold weather gear, any way to inprovise?
We do have wool socks and nylon long fishing and workout pants, wondering if there is a way to make it work in the shoulder season?

Oh, and what's biting this time of the year.

    Thanks for any input,
    Slack

Flounder may still be around. Blues, weakfish, toadfish, croaker, and maybe some schoolie rock if you fish at night. You should be fine with out cold weather gear. White bucktails and cutbait should work see if you can get any mullet.

Well, Hit the beach at 6:30 Sunday morning, Roosevelt Inlrt,
Had 2 lines out, 1 had a Flounder rig with squid strip, the other I was casting/trolling a bucktail (roadrunner) with a 6" white grub tail.

I drifted out about 2 miles, drift fishing the squid and casting the bucktail.
Only got a few hits that bit my squid or grub tail off (small blues),
Then had a horendous paddle back in, fightng the wind and tide.

Got in about mid day,, talked to a few fishing the rock jetties, no one was doing much.
Is it best to fish the actual inlet?? or fish the bay ?
      Thanks,
      Slack

the actual inlet by the north jetty where the submerged jetty and the non submerged jetty meet. Fish within 5-10 feet off the rocks vertical jigging. This has proved to be the most productive method ive used in that area.

We had a few boys that were filling in and a few that are not going to make it come spring. The teams we played have been together for years, a real eye opener
