  • How many miles?

How many miles do you average on your fishing trips?

  • #2
Depends on where, what and how I am fishing. I’ve done as little as 1 mile and as much as 10 miles

I try to launch as close as possible to my planned fishing locations to minimize the travel distance...and when you add in trolling, a typical kayak fishing trip For me is four to six miles and three to five hours in duration. But I have done as much as 9-10 miles...My typical trip is about a mile trip from the launch to my target grounds and I troll a rod or two on my travels...you would be surprised how many legal keepers are caught within yards of the launch...

Most of my trips are fewer than 5 miles round trip.

Most of my bass fishing trips are under 5 miles. But when I go out to the bay its usually a 10mile day.

Two maybe three miles and even that is probably exaggerating. I try to maximize potential and minimize time away from family so I focus on optimal times, tides and currents and that doesn’t leave a lot of paddling around.
