With storms most nights lately going out after work has been a no go. Today I went outside and just enjoyed the beautiful lightning flaring up over the bay, the thunder rolling none stop and the tree frogs chirping away. I felt the stress roll off of me with each roll of the thunder. Even know it wasn't in the plan to be able to go out tonight I was able to take in some of the wonders we are given. Hope everyone stayed safe with the storms this week.

Quite the show wasn't it? I haven't seen a steady stream of lightning like that in years!

Yep, supposed to fish this morning, but radar says no...we are in a summer weather pattern of threat of heavy thunderstorms every afternoon and evening...usually means mornings are good to go...not today...

I fished at Jonas Green off the rocks this morning. One bite, which I missed, and that was it. I saw a few small spot caught but that was about it.

We may appreciate the natural wonders of thunder and lightening but my dog surely doesn't! He was a nervous wreck last night.

I waited until the rain was over and fished not far from Jonas Green from my kayak. My goal for the morning was to test out a modified version of the Bignose spinner. I caught a bunch of perch and two pickerel in about 90 mins of fishing -- all in shallow shoreline habitats. A helicopter was hovering over West Annapolis for at least half an hour while I was fishing. I could see and hear it not very far away. I hope they found whatever they were looking for.

I decided to stay home as well, but was on the fence. Weather was looking rough but I guess it held up. Just my luck, but you know what they say. Since I'm all ready to go I'll be giving it a shot tomorrow morning. Tides dont seem to favorable, but beggars can't be choosers.
