  • Registered kayak stickers

Anyone know of the best stickers and method to applying them to get them to stick long term for registered kayaks?. I see guys with various stickers everywhere on their kayaks but have never had luck getting ones to stick long on mine. Thanks for any help.

I've placed my name, address and phone number on my kayaks with stick-on labels from a Brother Label Maker. The labels are waterproof. They have not faded or lost their adhesion. Some have been in place for over three years.

I placed labels on my paddle shafts too.

I received some USCG IF FOUND stickers from a booth that they had at a previous winter fishing show. The kind gentlemen also told me a good tidbit about applying them. Write your contact information with a black sharpie, and use packaging tape on top of the sticker to protect the writing from the weather.

I used vinyl sticker from someplace like https://doityourselflettering.com/vinyl-lettering/.

I dont think I used that website but someplace similar. Havent had any issues with peeling, cracking, fading, etc.

There is somebody posting both numbers and letters on craigslist that are all one piece and look better than the single ones I tried to use

Cleaning the area you plan to apply the stickers with soap and water to remove any dirt and follow up with an alcohol wipe to remove oils should help them stick.

Also keep in mind that stick-on numbers will not stick well to even slightly textured plastic surfaces. H

I have a motor so I have to have 3 inch letters. I bought them at Staples and they are still stuck. I cleaned the yak with alcohol in the area where I put the letters.
