  • Great day on the south river

Launched from quiet waters 9/25 early morning trolling towards Turkey pt. Caught multiple rockfish in the 18-20" range with some schoolies mixed in. Seems like they were biting on anything lures I tried. Awesome cool and overcast day with very little boat traffic. The lunar tide chart were dead on with lots of activity from 9-11. Caught lots of perch headed back to the landing.

It's been a while since I've been out there and it looks like it will be an incredible October.

There is a soft launch next to the boat rental pier. It dumps you out on the creek just east of the park. Its a bit of a hike. I built a kayak cart out of old bike tires for these kinds of trips. Ive used the more typical carts before on that path and struggled getting it back up the hill. I think someone on the forum said its like 1100'.

Tell the truth now, it is a lot easier than the hill at Homeport farms even though the walk from the parking lot is longer. Harness Creek has its share of nice size perch too and it is nicely protected.
