Giving back to the community

All - several years ago a group that was part of the MSSA led a fishing outing for underprivileged kids. It involved providing education, fishing gear/bait, and lunch at a local lake. My wife and I participated and it was such a great feeling. Would the members here be interested in participating in such a thing this year? Just want to gauge interest before we go into logistics.

I’ve volunteered at the DC Casting Call a few years and at several similar CCA events - it’s always a chaotic but highly rewarding time. Hooks flying all over the place! I think Covid will still be a challenge for this summer that would deter participation. What could be another way to support something like this? Make take a kid fishing kits? Some hooks / sinkers / line and inexpensive rod or instructions on how to tie to a stick? Maps to panfish ponds? I’m not sure but something to think about.
