Fished the shores of scotts cove last night with a buddy with no luck. About to throw the yak on the roof and head out somewhere. I know I'm a little late but better late then never. I'm in the Dena and trying to get to a ramp in an hour or so. Looking for striper and no luck and pretty quiet a Solleys. Any suggestions, jonas green? Spriggs farm? If anyone is off and wants to join as well hit me back.

Just a reminder that the striper season is presently closed and while some portions of the Bay will open in May for stripers, the entire Bay will not open until 1 June. Note also the closure this year the last two weeks of July.

For summer and fall stripers in Pasadena, I've had good outings launching at Ft. Smallwood Park and Downs Park (the Locust Cove Launch).

Look for moving tides near structure and shallow water close to deeper water. The fish will be there.

Be careful about talking about fishing for stripers before May 1. In 2021, the DNR prohibits any targeting of stripers during April. Incidental catch of stripers is okay, but don't intentionally rig up and fish for them.

Once the season opens up on Sat, you could try trolling from Jonas Green to the river mouth. Historically stripers could be found in the outer end of the river. My personal best kayak striper (37") came from trolling in the section of the river near the Naval Academy in early April 2016. But as they say in investment brokerages, "past performance is no guarantee of future performance". I have never tried fishing in the Magothy in late spring, but it could be productive too. Also consider launching at Ft Smallwood and trolling around at different depths.

Just got on the water and opened my phone. Totally didn't know about April. I thought it was CNR until opening day. Thanks. I know about the summer but don't know how I missed that. Just want to paddle and mess around anyway. Got the perch rod too so all good. Thanks again.

I have gone out in the South River near Quiet Waters and off Sandy point in the last two weeks and couldn't buy a perch bite.
