Cicadas and a new catch

I caught this little rascal on my usual spinner jig today. The first time I've caught one in a Severn Tributary.


On another note, the fish haven't quite caught on to the cicadas yet, I caught some bass on a Pop-R the other day and the strikes I got were from fish that were protecting their hatchlings, not actively going after the struggling cicadas.

The Geese, on the other hand, are gorging themselves on the buffet line.

I was shore fishing the Potomac. Fish there knew it was cicada time. Saw some red eyes smallies crushing them with in 10 seconds of hitting the water. No kayak but got a bunch of flatheads and blues.
