  • South River report

I fished the South River down by Quiet Waters this morning. There were NO Cicadas floating around and I only saw two flying around. I think that is why I caught 8 9-10 inch perch, 1 10 inch Croaker and 1 18 inch rock. I caught the perch on spinners with either curly tale or buckhair jugs, the Croaker was caught on Fish Bites and the Rock was caught on Gulp blood worm.

It was a beautiful morning but the water was coffee colored and I had to work hard for the fish.

On Tuesday, I fished the Cape Henlopen pier and caught plenty of live line size spot but that was about it.

Our cicada invasion is clearly coming to an end.

I can't say that I'll miss them but the fish and the birds will.

Amen. The birds have started coming back to the seed and suet feeders. I even saw a couple of blue jays eating yesterday. YES!
