    Weems Creek Surprise

    I launched from Tucker Street a little after 5 this morning and found an unusual species for Annapolis--a cutlassfish. It's the first I've ever caught, and I got it on a rabbit fur streamer I had as a teaser on a trolling rig. I had no idea cutlassfish came this far north! I've only seen anglers catching them further south

    Great catch. Another local kayak angler caught a cutlassfish in Weems yesterday. They are definitely uncommon visitors here.

            Mike I let it go. I had no ice with me and I also have no idea about any regulations on the species. Plus it wasn't very big, so I let him grow

                Wow! Awesome catch! I have fished Weems dozens of times and nothing so cool as that. Got me wanting to go out there this week now!
