Deadline! Beverly Triton Final Funding Council Vote Tomorrow, Tuesday 9/7/21

Hello all, and especially hello Anne Arundel County residents,

The final vote on the funding for the decades overdue public swimming beach at Beverly Triton Park is tomorrow, Tuesday, September 7, 2021. It's Bill 69-21.

If you live in Anne Arundel County, would you please step up one more time and email your County Councilmember to vote yes on the supplemental final funding for Beverly Triton?

The benefit to fishing yaks is more parking, improved parking that doesn't go to mud when it rains and an ADA rollout path on the beach that will also accommodate kayak carts. Plus a fishing pier onto the tidal pond that will be great for little kids and toilets and rinse off shower that makes it comfortable to take your family to the beach for the day.

I am not taking for granted that this bill will pass. The park obstructionists are lobbying hard against this final funding. Your constituent input matters a lot.

This is been going on since 1985. It's time for the county, after 37 years, to live up to the promises it made to the general public when it bought Beverly Triton with public money.

The story of Beverly Triton Park is a long and a sordid one of 300 acres of beautiful county owned Bayfront property on the Mayo peninsula going vastly underutilized for decades because long planned improvements have been stymied by the shortsighted parochial opposition of locals and the lack of political will to do what is right for ALL county residents. This is your park and your chance to let your county council members know how you feel about easing the water access and completing much needed improvements for kayakers at a prime Chesapeake location. It takes only few minutes to email your council member. Please do so.

The County Council PASSED the Beverly Triton supplemental funding bill 7 - 0 tonight.

Anne Arundel County residents please email your Councilmember and say thank you!

Next steps: 1) the county will award a construction bid and sign a construction contract with the winning bidder 2) construction will begin.
