Whatever you do, DON'T use 4# mono. It won't hold when the marlin makes a run.....believe me.

Winds at CBBT on Saturday are not looking good at 20+ mph according to one web site.

    Back up plan: Kipto? CHSP?

Not sure what specks and togs will be like at those places.

Sunday looks to be the best day. Kipto is probably the best bet for Togs because I think the wind will make it tough for CBBT.

For Saturday, yeah, Kipto should be better than CBBT.

I heard CHSP also has good togs along the jetty, and the winds don't look that bad on Sat or Sun there.

Will see what the forecast is on Friday evening.

Isn't that a 3 1/2 hour drive? That's the same as VB beach.

Forecast is looking better. Looks like it'll be sunny and 50's the next few days. Winds are high today, Saturday, but will drop. Sunday winds predicted to be 10 mph and dropping to as low as 4 mph in the late evening and should maintain that level through Monday morning.

So, I plan to go to CBBT early Sunday morning. Back-up plan is Kipto. Will also possibly go to HRBT Sunday evening and/or Monday morning.

If anyone can make it, would be glad to see you there.

(Will continue to monitor wind forecasts)

I had to go to Norfolk tonight and the wind was howling... You guys made a good decision by not coming down today. The waves were rolling when I crossed the HRBT. Hope tomorrow works out for you Tufnik! Every time I come down here I'm pissed my yak isn't strapped to my roof... I gotta fish here soon.

15-20 mph East or northeast wind is brutal- Kipto inside is OK, but everything in the Bay is screwed- it is just too rough. This time of year the winds blow East and Northeast a lot so you have to have a back up plan. Like fishing in protected coves or small reservoirs like Wheatly Lake in Charles County.

Fished Lynnhaven Last night, More keepers than spikes. Ended the night with well over 30 keepers caught upto 21'' We kept only 7 big males and relesed the females. I kept 4 Josh kept 3. Trolled "Houdini" colored swim shads on 1/2 oz jig head. Red worked better than white which was odd.

Oyster bars are the key. At low tide find them then troll the channels until high tide then make super long casts over the bars once the tide is over them. Slow retrieve and bounce the bottom.

That's where I saw a lot of the yakers and waders fish when I first fished there last week. It's the grassy area west of the inlet. You can also troll the shoal where I saw a number of boats park and fish.
