  • Mkf swap meet

Bringing this up from the sale/trade section. This is an awesome idea, i know i have tons of stuff i have purchased and never used aswell as rods i no longer use.

Interested in how much interest there would be in this event for say Sunday November 20th maybe 0900-1300 at Sandy Point State Park. We could setup in one of the Lots there.

    Tentative plan:

    MKF SWAP MEET N' GREET
    When: Sunday November 20th, 2011 0900-1300
    Where: Sandy Point State Park
Activities: Swap and Sell Gear/Meet new/old members

Other: Cold weather gear and recovery practice. Maybe have someone give a seminar on Cold weather fishing.

Better check w/Sandy Pt first ........... they may not like any kind of setup in the parking lot ......... We do the Wish a Fish there and they can be pretty strict

When I launched my Scout at Sandy Point on Tues, I saw that the employees were actively setting up the Lights on the Bay. Portions of the parking lot by the boat ramps were occupied by the decorations. However, there was still plenty of open space available.

There is always the option of reserving a pavillion. I have never done that but suspect there is a rental fee.

A call to the park office should clarify these points.

Depending on the pavillion, it would be couple hundred to several hundred dollars. When I was a union president, our local used to have summer picnics there.

Well not that I have anything to really trade, no one would want my cheap stuff! LOL But there are picnic tables to use that I doubt anyone would be fighting to use them this time of year. Or we could just have everyone setup in their trunks... Just a thought.

Everyone in their trunks? Sounds like we're selling used stereos! Medic and J.A. Veil made some good offers in the other thread, maybe one of those locations? Camp Wright would cost money for the hall, but I can inquire about cost.

Any other ideas for a place to go?

Most park and rides are pretty much empty on Saturdays. Possibly, anywhere that is not full or closed. Even a park, like Truxton Park in Annapolis.

A park n ride would be my preference ........ someplace central maybe around Columbia or maybe the reststop on 95 between Balto and Wash ...... central to most, plenty of parking and has picnic tables and no admission
