  • Fishing on Sunday

Since the winds suck this Saturday and Sunday looks be my only shot at fishing, has anyone tried Bay Bridge recently?

My only options are BB or St Jerome's/PLO. Any reports would be appreciated.

Anyone? Please report. I too need some place to get pullage since plans to go to CBBT this weekend has been blown away.

Hey hokie, I'll be doing PLO or SJC this weekend. I might even try to get a private launch so I can fish the St Mary's River grass beds off the airbase....

          kev,
What's at PLO? Specks at the inlet?
          Specks at SJC too?

          GS,
I haven't heard any reports on catching rocks at BB-East side. Have you?
Also, what do you think the water will be like on Saturday (in view of the winds)?

They say there are Specks....I have no luck to prove it. I'll be trying for them and looking for rockfish too

winds are 10mph NE....shouldnt be bad at all. havent seen to many reports on the bridge but you never know unless you try. i have read multiple reports of big stripers being caught mid-bay trolling so the big girls are arriving.

If the specs are there, then you can catch them at the mouth at STJ. Problem with
STJ is that the action is at the mouth and that's it. The only other option is the Light house which is 2 miles out or the reef which is like 1.5 out. Either way, a long paddle there and back. Maybe there's stuff in the back of the creek but it's so shallow so I don't know.

I'm not sure what's hitting at PLO lately.

                  GS,
Are you going to jig the pilings, then troll the channel?

                  Hokie,
Know if there are togs at the reef? (1.5 mi from SJC inlet).

The action is indeed at the mouth of SJC But in failing light I, and power boats, also catching rockfish in an a area around the mouth between the house with the red roof and 100yds out.

I have not been out at PLO lately, but again a lot of paddling but if the rocks are there it can be good.

I highly doubt there's any Togs up that far.

                          Hey! new here.

I was planing on hitting the bay bridge on Saturday. I was there 2 and 4 weeks ago and didn't catch anything, but I don't really know what I'm doing, so that's not surprising. But I also didn't see anybody else catch anything. It's fun as hell anyway.

I trolled with a plastic eel for a while, tried a spoon as well. No luck. I also jigged the pilings and the rocks. No luck. I also tried to catch some spot with bloodworms. No luck.

I plan on launching out of spsp when ever I get my lazy butt out of bed on Sunday. I want to concentrate on jigging the rock piles and maybe troll some goodies if the fish are scarce. Sundays weather looks nice so far. I thought about launching from g-dock but I'm too fluffy and anti agile with all my cold weather gear on to make that drop comfortably

I think you're right about it being too far for togs, Hokie.

                              Mike,
Remember what happened to surf. He got up late and missed some good rock catches.

I decided to go to CBBT Sunday.
