  • December M&G

The December M&G is scheduled for the 10th. If it is like previous years, this should be at the peak of the Striper Migration. I'm going down and staying at the trailer at Cherrystone. I can sleep 3 and possibly 4 more. First come, first served

    who's going?

I never yak fished in December because it was too cold. Even with layers, not sure I would last out there. If the wx is above 40 deg and sunny with little to no wind, it would be doable for me. Actually, with the short yak ride to the wrecks and the protection of the wrecks from east or west winds, it should Ok at Kipto.

Sounds like a fun day, but I'll have to pass- we have our annual Christmas reception coupled with a staff retirement party on the 9th in D.C. Lots of out of town folks traveling in.

I really want to get down there, but I still dont have my new boat. If I go, it would probably be a long day trip, Im flying to Chicago on Dec. 11. Im supposed to get the new boat this week. If that happens I'll rig it up this weekend and have it ready for the meet and greet.

This is one thing that I can see happening to the M&G, during the end of the year, it gets harder to get everyone together to a M&G, because of all of the end of the year holiday related activities. There are company holiday parties, xmas shopping, Thanksgiving and Xmas. There are family travels during the holiday, all of this eats away at the available time to get a group together.....darn. As for me, I have to travel out of town during Nov and Dec, so two of my weekends are auto booked, then there are the two holiday weekends, so that leaves me with 4 out of 8 weekends to work with.....etc...etc....

I will be half way around the world that day (Brisbane, Australia). It should be early summer weather in the subtropics, and I hope to get out snorkeling.

For those of you who get together, have fun and be safe.

I think I may be tentatively in, at least to make the trip down and fish for the day.

Dudes ......... this was booked last Feburary so there are no excuses ......... AND ....... these are the big Mama's .........the ones you have been waiting for all year. In addition, the Trailer is right off where the bigger boats drift eels and catch .......... the trough just off of Cape Charles channel does a VRY sharp drop to 90 ft I think. The maps showing where the cows are caught show the deep water from the bridge to 36a that you can see from Cape Charles ...........

Shoot, cancelled a trip with someone else because I wanted to keep a warm place to stay for you guys ..........

Just found out I will not be able to pick up my new hull until the end of next week and will not be able to get it rigged in time for the meet and greet... If the weather is excellent, I might still consider going down with my sit inside, I fished the HRBT with it last year.
