No problem. Just catch more togs and tell where the hot spots are.

Looks like the wind died down Sunday morning. Did you catch them at Kipto (inside or outside the wrecks) or at the jetties by Cape Charles? Did Rick go out too?

Kipto 1st ship at the south on the inside, and yes rick made it out in the afternoon. It was a lot calmer than saturday.

Can't believe how calm it was Sunday, after the hurricane we had Saturday. I wanted to stay for Sunday, but I had to attend church events with my wife. She gave me so many fishing passes so I had to give up Sunday fishing.

                Was Rick togafied?

Ok ....... time for my report ........

Good time was had by all .......... picked up Matt on Friday @ Anglers and drove to Cherrystone and got set up ...met my Oyster guy for the first bushel .... weather was great Friday night ..... it was reported that there were so many guys fishing the Kipto ships Friday night that it looked like a Christmas tree even with a full moon ........ slept warm.

Saturday was a TOTALLY different story .....after a stop at Chris's for bait ... found out that crabs were out of season so no crabs for sale ...... it was on to Kipto .... 25 knot winds, temps in the high 40's and 2ft+ waves between the ships and the mainland ........ I wimped out (along with a bunch of other guys) ....... no one even had a striper bite at the ships and it looked kinda tough to fish for Tog .......... Thank goodness Tufnik and Ryan brough some crabs ....

Gotta say ....... Tufnik, Shadyfisher and CBKayak are hard core salts ....... not only did they fish hard ...... they were the only ones that caught or got bites and I talked to just about everyone ........ Great job guys!!!!!!

Ryan is the TOG King ........ caught more than anyone by a long shot.

Back at camp ....... Tufknik came by but didn't stay ...found out I'm the only one that likes raw oysters ... Had a good dinner @ Stingrays ..... watched a fishing video ...... slept warm

Sunday was a Totally different story .......... 34 degrees 10 - 15 mph and calm between seas ........... still no fish ..... except for Ryan (Shadyfisher) .... Matt had a couple on but was only using 12 lb line and both broke off ....... No one was catching so I wimped out again till it warmed up in the afternoon.

Went out after lunch ....lent Matt an reel w/50 lb line .... had fun but spent a bunch of time screwing up ....... got the line caught in the flag and had to climb in the back and untangle it .......... made the mistake of pushing off the ship with my hand and cut my finger on the barnacles .......... the rudder loosened at the end of the day and I could only turn to the left or go straight ............. it was fun going in circles trying to navigate through the stake poles against the tide and found my wader belt was too tight for deep breaths so the peddle back against the tide was interesting .......

Gotta say ........ Matt is an expert at handling the PA ...... he could keep that PA centered in front of the holes against the tide and winds like he was anchored while I was bouncing off the hull and moving up and back ........ and he got 2 ........ oh and I missed 3 ....... good dinner and slept warm

Monday morning was the best yet ....... no wind temps not bad offered to take Matt to KIpto while I packed up but we didn't have any crabs or eels left and we were ready to go home ...... picked up the rest of the ysters and headed home ........

Found out last night that I lost my credit card and my ATM card so I spent most of the evening cancelling cards .......

But ...... as I sad ........ a good time was had by all ......

Great report, and thanks for sharing Rick. I like raw oysters so If I was there you would have had an oyster buddy.

Thanks so much for hosting, Rick. I think the guys ought to take advantage of your trailer for overnight stays. Your trailer is certainly conveniently located for going fishing along that area. Lots of areas to fish. The shallows and long stretch of that sand bar should be good for flounder and specks. The jetties may have some togs. Out deeper could have monster croakers. There should be perch and spot around the piers and rip rap too. Of course Kipto is only a 10 minute drive away. If yakers fish those areas and report their good catches, other yakers will be requesting trailer reservations.

sounds like everyone had a good time. Maybe next year for me. Gotta get the dry gear first. Nice report too Rick. That trailer is a nice added element for the cold season. Also Rick, I eat raw oysters... Wish I had thought about it ahead of time, I would have given you some money to bring me back a peck or more. Glad EVERYONE CAME HOME SAFELY!!!!!

Yeah ....... my oyster guy said that he would be willing to drive up with at batch of oysters if we got an order together for at least 10 bushels ....... I think the cost would be $60/bushel and $35 1/2 bushel but I'd check if we were serious. I would pick them up around Cambridge and meet you guys somewhere on a Sat or Sun. Let me know if anyone is in.

I can vouch for the oysters- they are true VA salties. My wife, MOC and I roasted and ate about 4 doz. last night. Good chance I'll be doing it again tonight!

I know I can handle 2 bu at a later date (January?) and can probably find others willing to spring for additional bushels.
