Leaky drysuit blues

I gotta say, I can't recommend the Stohlquist B-pod. The left foot developed a leak again at the end of my trip with Ron this past weekend. I think I've only used it 6 times or so since I got it back from being repaired the first time. Since it keeps leaking in the feet, I wonder if the material is not tough enough to stand up to pedaling. I can't tell if it's the seams leaking or if there's a tiny hole somewhere. It's a shame because I like the neck gasket and the material, which is really quite breathable. So breathable, in fact, that it can't seem to keep water out. I noticed a couple other areas that showed evidence of delamination, too, which is what happened the first time.

I remember that someone else on the forum had a B-pod. How has it been holding up?

Yeah, good to know... sucks to buy gear that just doesn't hold up.

Southerly--if it's the seam, there will be no easy fix. Stohlquist has a lifetime warranty. They might rethink that after dealing with me a few times. I honestly can't remember the last time I made a major purchase and didn't have warranty issues at some point. Companies should hire me as a lemon finder.

I fixed the hole that happened in May when the striper stuck a hook in my leg as I was trying to remove it using something similar to Goop. I put some sail tape from duluthtrading.com on the inside of the hole and used Loon's UV wader repair adhesive on the outside. That seems to have worked really well, and it isn't too noticeable, either. The UV adhesive can be applied even when wet and cures in sunlight or with a little UV light included in the kit.

Dang! I hate it when that happens- I used to waterfowl hunt a lot in Arkansas (flooded timber) and sometime during the season you would invariably get a leak in your waders- standing in the mud and water- three foot deep with a light crust of ice is no time to get a leak- and once it starts you freeze your butt off and can't leave your hunting partners-
