  • I guess I'm done kayak fishing for a while

Went out this morning for some end of season action. Got zip, zero, zilch, nada. Not even a bite. Nothing but cold.

On top of that, I lost my paddle somewhere between the beach and the parking pad. Didn't notice it was gone until I got home. Sent my buddy who lives around the corner from the launch to look for it but no luck. No money to replace it with christmas right around the corner so I guess I'm done for a while.

Hope the rest of you had better luck than I did today.

That sucks about the paddle. Plus no fish.

That's too bad about the paddle. I had a similar thing happen to me a few years ago. When I got home and unloaded the gear, I realized the paddle was not there. I hurried back to the put in spot (only 15 mins away) and the paddle was already gone.

If you want to keep paddling over the winter, you are welcome to borrow the paddle from my back-up kayak. I won't need it again until next summer in the event I take a novice out for a trip on the back-up boat.

Thanks John, I may take you up on the offer. I don't feel like I have caught all of the fish yet that I was supposed to this year!

Sorry to hear about the lost paddle and skunk. I've got a spare you're welcome to borrow as well.

I'm done until next season anyway since it's too cold. I pretty much stopped in early Nov. once the water temps started dropping.
