Jamaica Bay 2012 Dates

For those of you that have been considering attending the Jamaica Bay Kayak Fishing Tournament this May in Queens, NY the dates have been announced. May 17-20 this year! Plan accordingly! Last year I won an award for brining the most new faces to the tournament and they challenged me to do it again so I'm going to need your help!

The tournament is similar to what I would imagine a kayak Woodstock would be, just focused on fishing not all that other hippy stuff! The past two years I have attended have seen more than 300 kayakers each time. It's an awesome fishery and the guys that went last year can give you their opinion. My only advice... Watch out for Sam in the raffle! If you thought TKAA was bad, last year she won a kayak!

I may be there, depends on the funds. Yakattack is hosting a tournament around the same time in VA. I'm gonna have to choose between the two.

I'd like to go but can't get all 4 days off. do I have to be there every day to win anything? Can I just show up on the evening of the 18th or morning of 19th. and still have a chance of winning anything? How much of a drive is it? looks like about 4.5 hrs.

Redfish, thanks for posting this, I have searched a couple times over the last few weeks to see if I could find the date. Do you have any idea when the registration is going to open?
