Also, such as when there is a 10' drop, it will show the two lines in between the top the the drop to the bottom. It will not show every one foot increment, depending on steepness. If your getting the same lines, as on a NOAA map, that is good. That is about what I get. Some of the larger units get all of the 3D images and the fish eye view. It all depends on your sonar. That is why I got the fish and Chip, back when it was available, as I would not get some of the higher end features of the Gold on my 385. I just wanted the drop offs. Some of the larger units would give a 3D image of the body of water where you are kayaking. Then again, those larger units use alot more power. It is a balance.
A call to Navionics would be helpful. Their tech people are very good.
The menu I was speaking of gives options, such as fishing, navigation, fish eye view, birds eye view and 3D. You may not have those options.
