  • Thursday 6/17 anyone?

Thinking of going Thursday night to the Narrows. Actually am remployed so will have to work more, fish less. Haven't looked at the forecast yet but would love some company. Maybe put in between 6 and 7 pm or so. Hopefully have the chartplotter up and running by then as well.

How long do you think you'll be out? I might be interested in going up but I have to be back by 11 or so.

Are you fishing under the bridge or a different section?

hadnt gotten that far in my thinking. I am open for whatever. Its always more fun if you fish with someone. Last time I hit the breakwaters at dusk throwing topwaters, then moved under various dock lights and finally the bridge. 11 would be fine with me. If I wanted to stay I could always head back under the bridge, but I would probably head in around then anyway unless the bite was insane.

Blew out a hamstring running this am so wont make it. Can hardly go up or down stairs let alone throw the yak on the truck. Hopefully heals up quick.

Sorry to hear man, that sounds rough! Good luck with the recovery and we'll get them another time.

dhmjd, I blew mine out last Thursday running too. My mother-in-law is a PT and diagnosed a stage 2 which takes 4-8 weeks to heal. It's been 7 days and I still have a little limp and some fairly significant pain but I can get around okay. I'm taking the kayak out this weekend no matter what. Apply ice a few times a day and stay off it as much as possible. You will have pain for quite awhile but you will be able to use the kayak fairly soon.

I tore mine up pretty bad playing high school football and it's never really been the same. When I flex it now there is a golf ball sized protrusion that sticks out from the back now. It took forever to heal up too.

Good luck and don't overexert yourself, or you'll be dealing with it for a long time. I'd think you'd be able to paddle though, unless you really use your footpegs or have a peddle boat.

Have the Hobie and my other boat is a sit-in, I've fished it quite a bit but the Hobie has spoiled me. I was training for a triathlon in October. I will just swim for a bit and use only arms if I have to. Go nail some big ones for me to make me jealous!
