Someplace with very close access to the Gulf. One of my biggest dreams are to catch a tarpon from a yak and maybe a permit too. Maryland definitely has many great fishing opportunities. It's the ridiculous taxes and continued misuse of funds that has me longing for the day when we can pack our belongings and say goodbye to MD.

Indiana is one of the worst for taxes- Texas/Louisiana has great fishing but so much pollution and the heat and humidity are non stop- the Pacific Northwest has great fishing but it rains constantly and taxes there are pretty steep- too. Maryland has taxes but average wages/benefits are some of the best in the nation- and its people are great- smart, friendly and progressive- my home state of Arkansas has some of the best fresh water fishing in the USA, low taxes, but much lower wages- Florida has some great fishing, but living through hurricane alley can be tough- same story for all the Gulf coastal communities- best way is to live in an area you where like the climate, has decent taxes and visit great fishing areas during peak seasons-

I'm with Metro and Pinch--definitely Tidewater VA. All kinds of saltwater fishing, the Outer Banks are within easy reach, and there's good freshwater fishing nearby as well.

Cape Cod ......... amazing fishing up there for both saltwater and fresh water ......... the cape has 360 + freshwater ponds from 1 to over 100 acres and every type of saltwater type you can think of ......... flats, canals, rivers, jetties, calm, breakers etc etc etc ........
