  • New Yak fisher

Hi all. I'm new to kayak fishing and pushed off for the first time from Wharf road near Piscataway park, across from Ft Washington Sunday morning. I saw a few guys who mentioned this Forum so I thought I'd check it out in hopes of joining a small group for some weekend fishing in the area. They seemed to know exactly where they were going. I, on the other hand, took 3 hours figuring out the entire bay is only 2-3ft deep. Great for spawning but not so much in February. I plan to hit it again this coming weekend.

        jsnyd86,

Nice to see you found the forum! I was the guy in the camo colored Sit In yak and Moc was the guy in the canoe who suggested the site. We headed straight out to the main river channel looking for Blue Cats. Even managed to find a few. http://http://www.snaggedline.com/showthread.php?t=2742

Hi and Welcome. I was the guy that you talked to on the water steering the conoe. I normally use a yak, but a friend of mine wanted to go fishing and did not have a boat, so I took my canoe. That water was shallow. The other Yaker that you saw was Chimo on this board. I am glad that you found it and everyone is great on this forum. We have a monthly Meet and Greet on the second Sat of every month. We pick a different fishing location each time and meet up and fish together and then have lunch/dinner and a beverage afterwards. The 10th of March we willbe launching from Jonas Green in Anapolis. You will find posts on this along with our September (7-9) Tournament near the Bay Bridge on www.cbkainc.com . Fun time and lots of prizes and the proceeds go towards charity.

welcome on board and spread the word.

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I cant join you the 10th, but I look forward to getting out and catching some fish with everyone. I wasnt sure what I was fishing for the other day. I originally wanted to catch bass, but then it turned into anything. The only thing I caught was a crayfish with a grub. At least I know I was bringing it back slow.

                Remember Those Islands, Piscaway Creek

Remember those islands, as they are going to become significant when the bas spawn and the crappie start to school.
