Hey everyone thanks for putting together this great community lots of good info here. I fished all last season on a Native magic 12 including my most recent trip to Stuart Fl for some kayak fishing. I live in Baltimore county but grew up on the eastern shore and have fished my whole life in the back bays around OC and Chincoteague. I also fish the reservoirs in central Md a lot and had some good catches last year. I am about to buy an outback this weekend and I will be looking around here for some info on getting it set up for the season. Looking forward to the tournament this year and hopefully putting some outings together with other board members. Feel free to pm me if you ever plan a trip to the shore and I can point you to some great spots to launch a kayak.

    Tight lines!

                  Shady's lazy....pedal like a man!

Before you get setup, check out other people's rigs. I gaurantee you that unless they are purely stock, you'll never find 2 that are alike. We set them up to suit exactly how we fish.

I do recommend that you get a milk crate and put a precision pak over it. It looks great and will hold all your gear. However, if you like to fish with live bait, you'll need the aft stowage area for a live well or bucket....decisions, decisions.

Generally I fish flatties the first week of April or so for the first time. With the weather we have been having I would not be surprised at all if this is an early year. I will be fishing Chincoteague bay for the first time on the weekend of March 25th and will report back what I run into. I am planning a nice little write up of eastern shore bay fishing for the forum to take a look at sometime in the next week hopefully. I am happy to share what I know and will try to include some nice launch sites because I really want to see some more yak fisherman down there. I have been fishing from boats since I was a kid and catching fish on a kayak is a whole different experience.
