    True banana story .........

Last August a buddy and I hired a guide to fish for trout in a lake in Colorado ......... the guide said we would catch a ton of trout and put us in the right places ........ after a couple of hours of hard fishing we only had 3 fish to show ........ the guide was getting visably frustrated ..... changed locations .... lures and even picked up a rod himself to see if he could get it working ........ nada .......

Then my buddy decided to take a short break and eat ......... first thing he pulls out ......... you guessed it ...... a banana ........

Before he could get a bite, the guide physically charged him grabbed the banana and threw it as far as he could while yelling like a crazy man .......... my bud thought the guide was going to kill him ........... I was laughing my ass off ......... it was hilarious ..... you had to be there .........

10 minutes later we were all had fish on at the same time ........... caught over 50 in the last few hours .........

    True story .........
I have a similar tale to Rick's experience, except that mine was on a charter boat out of Hatteras Inlet in November about 20 years ago. We were trolling several miles out and in the middle of lot of birds. We could not get any baits touched. The captain called down from the bridge "Does anyone have a banana on board?" I thought he was hungry and pulled a banana out of our cooler and handed it up to him. He tossed the banana as far as he could out into the sea. Within 5 minutes we hooked up on all lines.

Since then, I not only will not bring a banana on board my boats, but I won't eat a banana earlier that day (it would still be in my digestive tract).

Yep. Gotta maintain that superstitious image, so no bananas for me. Besides, after a slow day of fishing even the nicest guys are fingering their fillet knives and looking for a potential sacrifice. Don't need to give them any reason to point fingers at you.

Nope. Line didn't quite work. Maybe something like looking around and protecting anything yellow like your shorts, underwear, teeth ...
