  • New guy here

Hello all new to the forum just stumbled across it. Have been kayak fishing the Maryland, VA, DC areas for 12 years. Just got a new yak I'm planning on taking it out this afternoon. It is a Wilderness system Commander 120 it is green in color so if you see me out there anywhere just give me a shout. I look forward to having discussions and hopefully meeting you all some day.
If anyone is interested in insight of areas to fish Reservoirs or Rivers please let me know.

Welcome. It's always great to bring more knowledge on board. What areas are your favorite to fish? I fish mostly the upper bay, not much reservoir fishing because of the restrictions. Otherwise, I'd love to fish loch raven.

If the restrictions are giving you the blues check out triadelphia and rocky gorge the sister reservoirs. Anyone can launch there and compared to the others there are very few restrictions and the fishing can be great at times. If nothing else they are some of the prettiest places to paddle. I frequently catch SMB, LMB, WP, YP, and I have also caught some nice stripers and walleye. Only downside is the $5 entry fee or $70 season pass.

                Welcome

I'll keep an eye out for you. My favorite fishing is for smallies on the Potomac. I'll be spending time this year between Seneca Breaks and Carderock.

Haymarket?!?! You're probably the farthest out toward the west. Anyways, welcome! Beware of the Dark Side.

Welcome aboard. My in-laws live in Haymarket, and my father fishes the Occoquan reservoir at Bull Run Marina. If you fish there during the week, you'll probably see him in a blue Tarpon.

That's where I used to fish also. I haven't re-newed my membership in a couple of years. Been fishing other areas lately.
