  • HB1307- Boat registrations

They changed HB1307 to this that would apply to kayaks with a trolling motor. VESSEL UNDER 16 FEET IN LENGTH ......................... $ 25

It used to be $8 and the last bill would have made it $50 and they just lowered it.

Here is the link to the bill.

Welp, when that goes into effect I'll just have to go crabbing more to get more of my money's worth!

Currently the registration fee for a vessel under 16' and 7.5hp is $0 and if the bill goes into effect it going to be $25!

The government system is a joke...

Well in VA you pay $34 just to register plus 2% of the value of the kayak and motor.

It would have made more sense to gradually increase, but our government doesnt fix things until they are broke, if at all.

It is zero now. Don't just complain here, call or write to them. Let them know why a clean watercraft under 7.5 hp should not have a registration fee.

...and screw the bear. Let them go back to s#$&%#@! in the woods and not on my kayak.
