  • Water Temp

I just took a look at the NOAA buoy data, water temp 49.5, just off Annapolis. Bay fishing will really be starting soon. At 50 degrees the fishing will be good. At 55 degrees the fishing should really take off. Given this weather, looks like an early season.

Fishing for Rocks, or just fishing in general? And what is another way of effectively catching Rockfish besides jigging structure?? I cant wait to pull in some big boys!

Trolling seems to be the game for the big spring time fish, in the main stem of the bay.

I used to/still can troll for em from my small boat, and I got that game down pretty good. Do you think trolling parachutes (large bucktails), or Stretch crankbaits would be effective from a kayak? I think it will work, its def guna be a good workout though.

I do the crankbaits. I use large Rapala X-Rap saltwater series. I have used Stretch crankbaits with luck. Parachutes and bucktails work also. I use an electric motor to keep things moving along.
