Yeah Pinch pretty much covered my style. I use a lighter jighead than him, usually a 3/4-1.5 depending on depth. Biggest thing is always keeping contact with your jig and walking that fine line of tapping bottom vs snagging. Rod makes a big difference! Teramar is nice but a bit clumsy for light tackle jigging. A good thing to do would be to try casting a bank sinker, maybe 2 oz into deep water with a lot of current like the bay bridge so you can get the hang of what your rig feels like when you hit bottom. That rod can handle 8oz no problem so don't worry about that. After that switch to jig head and try to get the same feel. You want to make contact with the bottom and snap the jig back off the bottom. When you are falling back down you want enough slack to give the lure action but tight enough to feel it. The bite is weird and a lot of guys miss it because it can be so subtle. Once you figure out that light tap on the line is a 30"+ rock you really get into concentrating on the line. Set the hook hard.
