Pinch a small portion of the duct seal over the top of the transducer to hold it in place leaving an opening to pour water in. Yes, the water falls out and has to be refilled each time you go out.Originally posted by chexone View PostCan you flip the yak (for transportation) when using a duct seal well? Check out the video above, it really works..

Yes, that will work too,if you are not looking for accurate water temps to display right away. I think the wet well gets better performance though.Originally posted by stonemason View PostI didn't use water, I just stuck a slab of duct seal to the hull and pressed the transducer into it.
Its all in Joe's video above..

I used Duct Puddy and after 2 years it was still in place after being stored and transported upside down. It gives a clear view and now bubbles to worry about. If you are interested in Water Temp however, This type of install is not for you. There are other means of obtaining the water temp.Tom Brown

I have my sit inside kayak FF setup with the duct seal. I used the glob and push the transducer into it method (not wet well), works great!. On my Outback, I have the transducer mounted on my evolve motor, that works great too!
