I think Cory Routh was working with these guys to develop a fishing specific dry suit, but I haven't dealt with them.

Other companies that repair dry suits will add zippers. Here's one from a quick Googling:

When find someone to do it, ask them (for me) why companies put the zippers in horizontally? It makes taking a leak while sitting way harder than it has to be. Why not use vertical zippers like every other pair of pants made since the invention of the zipper?

^i thought the same thing. my only guess is there is more stress/movement for the waterproof zipper in a vertical position that could wear or compromise the zipper?

The only thing I can think of is that the old school zippers had big teeth and might've, uh, chafed sensitive areas, so the companies made them horizontal and set them up higher. The new zippers are smooth on the inside, so there should be no excuse not to orient them vertically, now.

I think I have to go more in my Hobie than in my Tarpon, especially in the winter. I guess sitting + pedaling + numerous layers + wader belts = major bladder compression.

              ^you maybe right..lol

usually i only have to go once, maybe twice. but today, maybe i broke the seal too soon! my two piece suit is great, when assembled together, but when i have to pull it apart multiple times, in rough seas, it was tough to put it together appropriately. just trying to pull the pants, along with layers, down enough to wiggle something out is tough, LOL. thus why i'm sick of it and need a zipper.

this is the response i got:

                        Hi Dail,

We can install a relief zipper in your dry suit. It will be horizontal. I have attached a photo of a zipper we recently installed on a drysuit. Our turnaround time is about 5 weeks and the cost for this service is $174 plus shipping. Our repairs are guaranteed for 1 year. Let me know if you have any other questions.

                        Thank you!

guess i wont being doing it this year, nor next. i'll have to figure something out. if i could just find a zipper, i'd sew it myself and glue the s*** out of it.

Email them back and ask if you can just buy the zipper from them
