Weather forecast is looking pretty good for this friday and I'm taking off work to fish all day. Anybody else want to fish friday? I'm not really sure where I want to go, but I'm open to suggestions...

As of yesterday, we saw no indication that the shad had moved up into Deer Creek. They are in the vicinity of the creek mouth and further downstream along the Harford Co. shoreline. Try to find a time when the water level is at average or higher. Yesterday the bite shut down when the already low water level began dropping.Originally posted by Splitscreen View PostI can do some fishing in the morning if it's somewhere close to h-co.
My first thought is deer creek for shad
If you plan on fishing there from your kayak, keep an eye on the wind. Yesterday's wind would have made kayaking on the main river unsafe. Having said that, we observed a DNR jet boat electrofishing in heavy whitecaps not far from where we were fishing.John Veil

I had an idea of trying somewhere on the susky, but was leaning toward above the dam as I had a tip on hybrids, but if I hear anything about Stripers on the flats that might be the spot. I don't really want to try for shad until they're hot...

I am going to try to hit the flats tomorrow and/or friday as well depending on the wind and if work cooperates. At least according to the DNR site the Stripers are going to be moving in soon.Originally posted by shadyfisher85 View PostI had an idea of trying somewhere on the susky, but was leaning toward above the dam as I had a tip on hybrids, but if I hear anything about Stripers on the flats that might be the spot. Alright well either idea sounds good to me. Just to let you know I have heard from a pretty reliable source that shad are hot in bush right now. I'm not sure what type though, and I hear that gizzard don't really take lures or bait often. I'm going out to fish off the pier in just a few minutes. I'll let you know what type of action I see, if any. Keep me posted on a location

Was out today, had a couple good fish on in the Susquhanna Flats fishing a rubber worm (Texas or Wacky Rigged) Never got them to the boat though. All of them hit in the river towards the railroad bridge.Mike

Hmmmmm..... LMBass or Cats or Striper???? I saw a post on TF today by Brandon that several very nice stripers have shown up on the Susky Flats. Dunno yet if it's just a few that have reached the Flats or a whole bunch of them made it there. This weekend should tell. Keep you paddels crossed.Originally posted by mi327 View PostWas out today, had a couple good fish on in the Susquhanna Flats fishing a rubber worm (Texas or Wacky Rigged) Never got them to the boat though.
