I have been looking and looking for the fire tiger 2 inch original floating Rapala- (Bill's go to fresh water lure) I scoured the lure aisle at Bass Pro the last time I was at Ann Arundel Mills but nada...same story at my local Dick's Sporting Goods...they had every color but fire tiger...last night, I threw in the towel and ordered two from Gander Mountain for $5.99 @ and free shipping.

Where do you find your hard to find lures?

I finally picked up a replacement/back up at the Dick's in Lexington Park since I only have one of those. I have to change out the trebles, though. What I can't find locally is the small firetiger Husky Jerk. The DT lures that Matt likes have gotten hard to find, too, when I started looking for them.

Ive been looking for DT series, I think the Gander in Salisbury has an OK selection. There is a Dicks across the street also, and their selection might actually be better.

Try the Yellow Perch model. It has a bright orange belly. That, in 2" has caught me some nice bass. Both LM & SM. Slow retrieve on the surface.

Hey, Ron, you really need to have a sinking/countdown version of that lure too.
The sink is predictable--1 ft per second-- and it casts better. Last summer when the main bait the breakers were focusing on was small (silversides mostly) It was a great lure for me. Once when I was out with Bill I changed it because i was catching too many fish and my arm got tired...switched to topwater baits at that point.... I lost the largest Bluefish I have ever hooked right at the boat that day on this reliable little lure.

I was surprised that Gander Mountain was one that had the lures and free shipping at the lowest price- $5.99 isn't cheap for a 2 inch crank bait, but Rapala's are pricey lures- I have a bunch of them- especially the XRap series- my favorite speckled trout/striper lure- and they shipped them the same day I ordered them- USPS is supposed to deliver on March 29-

That is almost as good as buying at the store- quick order- free shipping
