Swan Creek Launch Site

Southern end of the flats has been heating up according to some reports. The closest place to launch is Eleanor and Millard Tydings in swan creek. Most people have never heard of this so I took a video of the location. It's a bit remote and hard to find. Here's a link to the DNR description of the "park." At any rate, it was still an hour and a half paddle to get to where the boats were gathered.

Yeah....and the guy saying "...squeal like a pig..." lol

Is this a closer launch to the fishing area at the flats than other launch sites? An hour and a half is still a ways. Also, if there is such a thing, when does catch and keep season start?

banjos in the background is the exact feel of this place. Catch and release started a few weeks ago but the fish are just showing up now. This is the closest area because aberdeen proving grounds owns all the land closer as far as the south western side of the flats. Swan Harbor has a pier and a launch but it's closed until further notice. It's also a very long walk to the water and is a little north.

I meant catch and keep, not C&R (which started 1 Mar). In other words, open fishing. I checked MD regs and found open fishing at Susky is May 16-31 where you can keep one fish (between 18 and 26" inclusive per person per day). Starting 1 Jun, you can keep two between 18 an 28" inclusive or keep one between that limit plus one over 28" inclusive.

Anyway, Swan Creek looks like it's among the better launches in terms of the least amount of paddling.
