I stand and fish in my outback. Its not too bad, I usually put my fee on either side of the center hatch where I have STS.

I don't have any pictures of my setup but go to standnfish.com and you'll see what I've got.

I stand on the seat and I'm very comfortable. It's great for flyfishing and drift fishing.

It's perfect locale is the mangroves down south.

Very easy to install and easy to get on and off.

yeah 100 lb carrying capacity for a few pounds in weight. I like fishing with 2 people on the PA, its stable and doesn't take on water. With a lower carrying capacity the yak would sit much closer to the water and make it sketchy at times. Its a great product, I am just saying it didn't make me regret getting my PA. I absolutely love my yak.

Remember the kayak is still wide, also you aren't losing any of the components that add weight, maybe lose 5lbs with the new style seat.

I like to think of this model as a Pro Angler for someone that doesn't need the extra weight capacity or stability or storage space. A more practical model. that I think a lot of Outback owners may think about crossing over to the PA realm without have to get the LARGE 14 model!

I'll put it out there.... I will own a yellow PA 12.... eventually I'd like to be able to have two yaks again so I can take friends or family out..

It's 23 lbs heavier than my Outback, so I'm not real thrilled about that. If it was the same weight as the Outback, I'd be on it.

What will make this new Pro Angler great is the fact that it is the best of both the 14 foot Pro angler & the Outback (I own both). This is because as much as I love my 14 foot Pro Angler I want something smaller. My Outback is great for the weight; however, I can’t stand in it to flip/punch weed mats on the Potomac where I do most of my fishing. The biggest buster for the new 12 footer is the built-in transducer mount and the design of their new seat for it, the bottom line up front is that I would like to trade-in my Outback for this new fishing machine if possible this year (budget).

I must have misunderstood- I thought you said Hobie was coming out with a new KAYAK not a new boat

I feel the same way but the ease of standing plus the other improved options might have me selling off my 2011 outback thats only been in the water twice. The only bad part IMO is its the same price as the larger PA.
