I just hope it's a WHOLE lot cheaper cause from what I've seen so far it's one of those ...... WHAT WERE YOU THINKING ...... products ......... hope I'm wrong ......

Looks like the steering is on the top instead of below the rail so it can easily be damaged ......... they partnered with Lowrance for only their low end DF'rs ...... ya have to use their stupid structure scan box that doesn't fit in any Kayak and it's not watertight to get sidescan and the standard df view whereas the Hummingbird gives it all in the headunit software with 1 transducer ....I cancelled my Lowrance order because of this and I'm going to get a Hummingbird .... you lose 2 horizontal rod holders and 2 ft of storage space and it is narrower ( I think) which should give less stability and less flotation and less weight capacity. You only shed 20 lbs and it won't be any easier to load or to transport ............ and they still haven't given a decent evolve mount like the twist and stow on the outbacks or Revo's ....and I don't think the H-Bar will fit .... the only thing I like so far is the seat ........... as far as I can see they took a good Yak and made it worse ............ WHAT WERE THEY THINKING !!!!!!!

I know they are not out yet so i hope my initial impressions are incorrect ......

I 100% disagree with you, so far I like what I see and yes I have own both the Outback and Pro Angler for many years and think this has most of the fixes I would like in a fishing machine for what I do most of the time on the water around here.

Well ........ I guess we agree to disagree ......... just heard the new PA is the same price as the 14 ft PA ..........

Don't get me wrong, I love my PA 14 .......... just don't see the advantage of the 12 ........ especially the same price as the 14 .......... again, 1st impressions ...... hope they change when I see 1 in action ......

Exactly my point, it might not be right for certain people where in their case the PA 14 is the right boat.

But the PA 12 is gonna be the right boat for other people.

For example, Myself - I like the PA model, but I don't need all the space, or the "extra" stability or weight capacity. I'm only 185 lbs and I don't have any trouble lugging around the PA 14, and I wouldn't do anything different if I had a PA 12, meaning I would still trailer it.

My major reasons for owning a PA
                1. Mirage Drive
                2. Can stand easily, like I could on the jackson coosa I owned.
                3. Sit higher out of the water, making casting a lot easier.
                4. Organization of gear

So it would be more practical if I bought another boat to get a PA 12, because in my case I think less is more, even at the same price.

I think we actually agree, the advantage might not be there for you for the PA 12, but it will be there for someone else. It's win-win for HOBIE.

You'll have no trouble selling the Outback! I think a lot of guys will move from the Outback to the Pro Angler 12. I agree to disagree with Rick, I think this thing is going to sell like hot cakes.

I'm considering joining in with my siblings to purchase one for my father, it would fit his fishing perfectly. Otherwise, maybe an outback, but stand and fish would be great and he doesn't need the full sized barge.

That being said... if I had a truck or trailer, I'd be all over the PA and probably opt for the full size version so I could bring my girlfriend or a larger dog with me. They are surprisingly fast, but I do not have the space for one.

Long story short, I'm excited about it... and I expect to see a lot of Hobie's for sale this summer from guys upgrading to the new PA.
                  Used to fish more.

The main attracting feature for me is the comfortable seat because I do very long trips. The other features are really attractive too. It's still heavy enough for me to not do cartop transport. I imagine I would eventually get a trailer or truck for it. If I have to do that, I may as well get the PA 14. I really like the features (e.g., steering on both sides, integrated FF) of the 12 over the 14 though. Maybe a future 14 will have the same features.

As an Outback owner who does and prefers cartop transport, the PA 12 does not pull me over enough to warrant a switch to trucking/trailering.
