  • New PA ready this weekend!

My first kayak is at backyard boats and should be ready to go by Friday. I decided on the yellow Pro Angler. I can not wait to get the yak in the water

That is a good question. I have thought about launching at Dundee Creek and targeting some bass. What are you up too this weekend?

This time of year, I'm dedicated to the flats. I'll probably hit it up Friday if I can swing it, but the rest of the weekend I'll be out of town visiting family. If you go to dundee keep an eye out for any carp. Usually it's about this time when they start to fill in there pretty thick.

I may go to Dundee or the Flats, I heard it is really heating up there. Thanks for the info on the carp, I will try your bait recipe if I go to Dundee. What type of hook should i use for the carp? And are size 6/0 circle hooks too big for the stripers?

For the carp, a small treble hook about the size of the tip of your pinkie finger. For a big fish, their mouths are relatively small. They wont swallow the hook either. For the striper at 6/0 through 9/0 are all fine sizes. I use a 9/0 if I am using bait, but I use lures if possible. Right now, you should use lures as the water conditions are right for it.

Thanks for the help Yak Fish. I have some bass assassins to use and a few other lures. I want to try my saltwater zara spook. It always brings a lot of top water action.
