  • Best Tog Rig: From shore or yak

What rigs do you avid fishermen prefer to use or tie?

I plan to use a swivel with about 40 or 50lb mono and tie a dropper loop to attach a hook and then a surgeons knot at the bottom to attach the sinker.

How long of a leader should I use and what are the distances between swivel, hook and sinker?

I will be fishing for Tog in OC this weekend from shore. This will be my first time targeting Tog so any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance all,

The rig on Rob Choi's site looks legit.

I do it the same as rob but leave the double line off the dropper loop a bit longer and shorten the distance to the sinker. I like the hook closer to the bottom.

Basically tog are fish designed by the devil to steal your bait and or rigs. Thus why i will not be joining you. But on the other side of the coin flounder action should be heating up soon.

On the flip side they are quite good to eat.
