  • Anyone fishing friday night?

Im thinking of going fishing Friday night...whether from shore, pier, or kayak. Anyone have plans of fishing anywhere?
I'm down for catching anything...stripers, croakers, catfish....

I was thinking Friday morning, Potomac River catfish/bass. There's that large alcove South of Ft. Washington been wanting to try that area. It seems like the south side would have a lot of food/nutrients swept in by the main river current, might be a good feeding area for catfish.

Friday may be my only fishing day of the week- I am traveling on business....flying home tonight from Atlanta...My biggest Yak striper caught last fall was 29 inches, so I am looking for my first cow from a kayak

I can't fish this weekend other then a couple of hours saturday morning for trout so Friday afternoon/night could be a possibility. I would like to fish the flats again before its closed, but I dont know if thats going to work out. Do you have a spot in mind?

Sorry, Friday morning doesn't work for me because of work =(.

Ron and Shady, I'd love to meet up after work if you guys are fishing.

Specific spots I was thinking of:
          Bay Bridge yaking for stripers
PLO for croaker from the pier or shore
Chesapeake beach yaking for croakers (kind of a gamble. i don't know if they're there. I'm just going off of Metroman's report from last year ).

Shady, I would consider yaking the flats for stripers if I had company. The reports of 30-50 stripers a trip are very tempting .

I plan on only fishing the early morning till mid afternoon falling tides tomorrow...figure to be in the water by 7-7:30 a.m. At the latest?..supposed to have NW winds...breezy, so that maybe a problem in the main Bay and open waters

Windfinder is saying sustained winds at 20mph with gusts to almost 30mph tomorrow morning for the Bay Bridge. Might want to really think about that...

I checked my wx sources too, and it doesn't look good for Friday.

Winds 15-20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph. Wind is worst about mid morning, but there is a slight taper in the afternoon.

Temp will be 40 to 50 deg during morning hours. With the wind, it will be cold. Temp hits maybe 60 around mid afternoon.

Mostly sunny, and chance of precipitation is 10-20%.

Absolutely disappointed to say, if the forecast stays the same, I will have to back out of fishing tomorrow.

On a good note, I'm looking toward Sunday for good wx.

Northwest winds are a killer on the bay- if these winds forecast holdup it would be dangerous in anything I own...dang, I really wanted to fish, but not get beat up

I am thinking of heading to Bushwood on Sunday to test for any crabs, and croakers.... Has anyone heard of any good reports on either...? It is either Bushwood or Solomons for Sunday.

What is biting at the choptank? Where do you launch overthere? I am thinking I may change my plans to Solomons on Sunday.
