I will be speaking to the Pasadena Sportfishing Group on Mon, Nov 14. The topic is Shallow Water, Light Tackle Fishing. Here is a summary of the content of the talk:
"Local angler and fishing book author John Veil will talk about how he fishes in shallow water using light tackle, mostly from his kayaks. He has fished over 200 days/year during the past few years. Over the years Veil has narrowed his focus to fishing primarily in tidal water less than 5 feet deep. The talk will describe why Veil prefers fishing in those spots, and the types of rods, reels, line, leader, knots, and lures he uses. It will then describe the fishing methods he uses, including casting and retrieving lures, light tackle trolling, and occasionally bait fishing. The presentation will include numerous photos of the fish he has caught and the gear that is used."
