  • First Perch of 2023

    Finally!
I was able to get my act together enough to throw the canoe on the car and run down to fish a small Tidal Creek.
I managed to catch three little Perch in a hour on the water, on one of my spinner jigs. Here's the first one, all 5 inches of him.

The tide was very high, and there was a slight brownish stain in the water.

    But thats not the point.
This is the first time in over a year that I felt well enough, and was able to get out on the water. It felt great to get a little tug on a line!
Knots are still a problem, but at least I can tie a clinch knot to attach the lure.

Welcome back to the angler brotherhood. I hope this is just the first of many 2023 fishing outings for you.

        Outstanding, Stu.

It never gets old, does it?

It's good to see you on the water again.

Congratulations Stu. I have a feeling that this is going to be a good perch year. Perhaps the perch had been waiting for you to get back out on the water? I am really glad you felt well enough to do so and you caught some fish. That first tug feels amazing after its been a while since my last catch. Welcome back brother
