How about a forum section for stuff you making and stuff you used and the presentation you used with those lures? Any interest in that?

I am more likely to ask where you caught it, what speed on the retrieve and such like that than just throwing out he Atta Boys. I am just wondering it you all are interested in this also?

I am just leaning, but always wiling to share. I would like it here as I have been reading stripersOnline and finding more Bass sized lures work better on the bay. Those monster lures where not drawings strikes for me.

      A finished Rattle popper

      And how it's made

Working on some 5.5" regular spooks right now and the "SportyGuy" spooks that are 6.5" and 1 1/4" around for a fat late summer big profile. I am still hoping they test out well.

And one to learn by. If you build your own you're going to learn by building some duds. They are Smithwick DevilHorse bass lures, that sink. Made from Basswood, now cedar, first mistake. Made the body too thin for the amount of metal I added.

Top water lures work best when they DO NOT sink.

We have dry dock. Maybe a diy (do it yourself) section?

WOW! Love those poppers! Blue top, silver belly with glitter sprinkled in Mustad short shank 4X treble hooks would be something I would buy.... hint, hint

The bottle Poppers are much easier to make than the Rattle popper. I have 3 primed bottle poppers left I think. Maybe I'll make Blueback Herring types. I'll have to play with it, as I am a newbie with the airbrush too.

I got two in white like this and was looking for ideas on colors for the last three as I need to epoxy them all together. It's gold ultra fine glitter over white primer. Although it looks purple/blue in the photo and does not show the glittering.

This looks like something that would be a lot of fun, and save a little money too.

Not fishing tonight or working around the yard so ...

Maybe preparing for the feast the striper will want to have after the water warms this week.

I like the idea of a lure making/rod building type forum or subforum. SOL's is great and full of good info. It would be cool to see what you guys have been working on.

On the topic of SOL and its influences, we just had our first "hotties" thread not too long ago, courtesy of Metroman, and SOL is thick with those. We must be doing something right. I guess fishing + smut = success.
