  • 5/5 Bay Bridge

Anyone fishing the area this day? I figure the with temps in the 80's the sun is going to warm the warm 5 degrees or more by Saturday. Fish aught to have the bite on.

I don't have a ton of experience fishing the bay, so I am looking for someone to tag along with. I figure fishing drop off and the like. Not sure if I have to observe the 2 hour tide windows around 5AM -PM that day.

Yeah its pretty warm, but over in here salisbury we are getting another several inches of rain today, Similar to what happened last weekend. I have a feeling it may be another slow weekend on the Bay. I was planning on hitting the Deale Island area but this rain has me thinking about OC/Assateague instead.

Watching the buoys for the flats and Annapolis and they are around 58 and shooting up over 61 yesterday and droping back down. I was wondering if they water would warm enough to make fishing better.

      Next week is all 70's

The MSSA spring tournament will be held this weekend. That means at least several hundred boats will be out there trying for a prize winning fish. Most of those boats will be trolling, and many of those will have wide spreads off of planer boards.

This weekend may not be an ideal time for kayakers to be out in open bay waters in areas where the trollers are likely to be. It may be prudent to look for areas in the tributaries or in shallow water where the other boats will not be.

Not sure where your planning to launch from but just in case so you don't get surprised... This week is the wine festival so you won't be able to launch from G dock. Was there last year and that whole parking lot gets used.

Place will be packed and tent will be up. When we went to it last year they had everyone parking in the side airfield. I'm sure it will be the same this year. I'm assuming you prob won't be able to get accesss from fri to Monday at the min with them setting up and taking down stuff. Try sandy point or matapeake ramp. Most of the boats I have seen are out in front of. Matapeake n run south to the Bloody point bar. Lot of charters come out from the lower marinas and troll along that area. So far the bridge hasn't been doing to well compared to the lower area around bloody point up to matapeake area. However alot of boat traffic. Would be nice to launch from one of the marinas by the golf course puts you closer.

There is a nice drop off about 200 yds off the main part of Matapeake pier.During incoming tide it can be pretty productive but can be choppy if the wind is coming up the bay.

I am planning going out on Saturday. There is a nice launch at SPSP on the Western side of the Bay Bridge. We have been getting nice schoolies on the Surf. We could also do Mattapeake. I'm up for whichever you want to do. Call me on Friday afternoon and we can discuss it. I won't be able to access my computer before Saturday after I turn it off tonight. I'm leaning more towards Mattapeake. I know we can catch a bunch of stripers off of Sandy Point State Park. Caught about 25 the last couple days. All about 19"-30" range. Get in touch with me. I'm deffinately going out just not sure where..
